Valentine's Day Concert at Kingswood

Title : Valentine's Day Concert at Kingswood
Date Added : 16th February 2010

The Kingswood Music School put on a wonderful Valentine's Day Concert on the lawns of Jacques and Kirkby Houses on Sunday 14 February.  It was an informal affair - parents brought along their deck chairs, while pupils used their duvets and pillows as picnic blankets as they spread out on the lawn in anticipation of a morning of good entertainment.

The Kingswood Chior was first up, followed by a 4-man singing group from Graeme College who wowed the crowds with their harmonies.  A popular act was the band Half Way There with Kingswood pupil Aegen Bax as the competent lead vocalist.  Bernita Swanepoel and David Viviers sang the romantic numbers - All you need is love, and Fly me to the Moon - they got us all in the Valentine's Day spirit.  David also sang with Catherine Bradshaw and delighted the crowds. Teri Rusike impressed with her rich, strong voice as she sang several numbers with the Kingswood Worship Team.  Up last were the wonderful Kingswood Jazz Band who got the crowds dancing, wrapping up an excellent morning!
