The Kingswood College Concert Band played a concert in memory of former College Chaplain, Rev Howard Kirkby at Commem Methodist Church on Sunday night. Rev Kirkby, who was a pupil at Kingswood, matriculating in 1938, returned as College Chaplain from 1951 to 1973, and the President of the Old Kingswoodian Club from 1963-1984. He was known to be a great music lover and supporter of the Band at Kingswood. The “Rev” as he was affectionately known remained involved with the Kingswood Council until his death in early 2007.
