The Interact Club of Kingswood combined forces with the Afrikaans department to organise a Boeresport Day where pupils could spend the day competing in fun activities. We also wanted to host the pupils from George Dickerson, St Mary’s and Grahamstown primary who are taking part in the Afrikaans Lief vir Lees project at Lebone House. The idea was to get to know each other better on a social level and also celebrate the Soccer World Cup which is now only a few days away. The morning was a great success and we want to thank each and every teacher, pupil and guest who helped make this such a memorable experience. Our grateful thanks go to sponsors Pam Golding for soccer balls used as prizes, and to Pick 'n Pay and Connocks Butchery that made it possible to give all the children roosterkoek and wors after the games.
The prize-giving ceremony with Mr Opperman in charge, and Mr Schenck and Interactors making roosterkoek.
Lauren van Noort and Alisha Gathercole supervise the distribution of roosterkoek (dough and jam donated by Picn 'n Pay) and wors (donated by Connocks Butchery) to the children attending the Boeresports Day.
Proud prizewinners sit on their soccer balls donated by Pam Golding
Thanks to everyone involved!
