1st XI Cricket Result vs St Andrews College

Venue:                         Kingswood, Gane Field                      Date: 30 January 2010

Toss Won By:             St Andrews, and chose to bat first.
Format:                        Declaration/ Time.

St Andrews batted well leaving Kingswood to toil hard for wickets. Highlights of the innings were Ryan Dugmore’s 71 and Richard O’Mahoney’s 55. Every batsman seemed to get in and build good partnerships, which allowed St Andrews to set up a good score. They declared at 289 for 6. The Kingswood attack bowled well without much support from the conditions, while the St Andrews batsman were not going to give anything away easily. Brenden Shiel took 2 for 30, including the prize wicket of Dugmore and Scot van Breda again, bowled well to claim 2 for 44.

With a total of 290 to chase in 60 odd overs, the Kingswood batsmen felt the pressure. The first four wickets to fall included two full tosses hit straight to fielders and two run-outs. Steven Hansel made a quick-fire 55, before he hit one straight to deep square leg. Good pressure bowling eventually saw Kingswood bowled out for 140, with 10 overs left in the day. Ryan Dugmore was definitely the pick of the bowlers (5 for 32), finishing off a great day for the skipper.
