Kingswood squash players do well

This past week-end saw twenty junior Grahamstown squash players from five schools participating in the National Bloemfontein Open. With over 400 participants, the Makana and Districts players held their heads up high.  Kingswood is particularly proud of the achievements of their players - Daine Kruger  was crowned the   U13A champion with Vaughn Meyer  winning the u/13B section. Aimee-Leigh Pote took third place in the U13 Girls tournament.
The senior section held some tough competition and Kingswood’s Jethro Thorburn did outstandingly well  to come 5th in the U16A, his first year in this age group, after being ranked number one in the country in the U14 section last year.
Coach Joyce Stewart said “It was encouraging to see so many participants from our town playing good squash and supporting each other. They demonstrated tenacity and displayed wonderful temperaments despite some gruelling matches.”
