Kingswood, preferred to bowl on a track which seemed to have a fair grass covering. The side used conditions well and seemed to pick up easily from where they left off in the recent festival games. Almost immediately, pressure was applied on the Dale top order with and early wicket from Greg Evans. Scot van Breda then picked up two from his end as well, which really put Dale on the back foot. The change bowlers then came on and some great catching in the slips, along with a brilliant direct-hit run out from point ended the Dale innings on 104. John Hale was the most successful bowler, picking up 3 for 6.

 

Kingswood went to bat, with more than an hour before lunch, and got off to a steady start. Neil Hornbuckle and Steven Hansel both got out playing loose shots outside off, but a good third wicket partnerships between Greg Evans (48 not out) and Nick Gailey (20 not out), took the team home to a 8 wicket win.
