Kingswood controlled the tempo well in the first half but did not make use of opportunities in the D. Adrian Friederichs did score after a well worked move up the right hand side – with a easy finish on far post.
The NMMU surface was obviously not watered due to restrictions and this made things a little more difficult with regard to moving the ball around effectively. We were glad to have Connor Thorp back, but it did take some adjusting in defence. The strikers ran well and in particular, Mziyanda Mangi had a very good game, even though he didn’t finish as well as he would have wanted to.
The second half did see an improvement, but we were still far from clinical in the D. Muir were always dangerous on the counter-attack, but good defence kept a clean sheet. Nicholas Gailey and Alex Katzeff probably had their best game in defence so far this season. Troy Rist and Steven Ellery have also shown great improvement in midfield.
The second half saw Adrian Friederichs scored hiss second in the game, along with Mziyanda Mangi and Ruru Msutu. Kingswood then winning 4-0.
